Partner-led execution, measurable results.
About
Meridian House is a specialist management consultancy focused exclusively on laboratory and regulated operations. We are small by design — every engagement is led by a senior partner with direct operating experience in the environments we serve. We do not send in a team of analysts. We do the work ourselves.
Our partners bring an average of twenty years of direct laboratory consulting experience each — across clinical and hospital laboratories, pharmaceutical QC and analytical operations, and regulated industrial environments. That depth spans engagements of every scale: from single-site diagnostic labs to global pharmaceutical manufacturers processing millions of specimens annually. We have worked through turnaround time crises, accreditation failures, capacity collapses, and regulatory remediation — and we have delivered sustained improvements in throughput, cycle time, right-first-time rates, cost per test, and workforce productivity. When engagements require additional scale, we draw on a network of senior delivery partners who meet the same standard.
Boutique
A small, senior team. No junior pyramid. The partner you meet is the partner who does the work.
Partner-led
Every engagement is led by someone who has run these environments — not studied them from the outside.
Lab-specialist
We work exclusively in laboratory and regulated operations. This is not a practice area. It is all we do.
Our Foundation
Meridian House was founded by operators who have led laboratory transformation at scale — across healthcare systems, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and regulated industrial environments. The firm exists because the partners believed that the most consequential engagements deserve senior attention throughout, not just at the start. That conviction shapes how we work: partner-led, accountable to outcomes, and built to transfer capability rather than create dependency.
That foundation informs everything we build. When engagements require it, we draw on a global network of senior delivery partners — allowing us to scale across multiple sites and geographies without substituting partner-level quality for volume.
The same principles that perform under clinical pressure apply in other laboratory environments: pharma, food and beverage, industrial chemistry, and every laboratory environment where performance, reliability, and control are non-negotiable. The sectors differ. The operating discipline does not.
What We Do
We design and install operating systems grounded in leveling, flow, standard work, and visual management — adapted for the complexity of regulated laboratory environments. The full system can be installed in a single engagement, or we can work on one category, a combination, or wherever the constraint is most limiting. Every engagement is scoped to the problem.
For laboratories in crisis — facing inspection findings, CAPA failures, or acute instability — we also provide rapid-response regulatory remediation and stabilization.
Explore the SystemHow work flows, how capacity is understood, and how demand variation is absorbed. Flow, leveling, capacity planning, constraint management, and staffing optimization — the structural foundation that prevents drift under pressure.
The habits and controls that make the right method the default. Standard work, visual management, workplace organization, and escalation routines — so deviation is visible and resolved before it compounds.
The cadence that keeps every level of the organization aligned and accountable. Tiered daily management, structured KPIs, problem-solving routines, and accountability cycles that close the loop on commitments.
LIMS optimization, automation, data analytics, and digital workflow tools that surface the right information at the right level — from bench to boardroom. Technology that supports the system, not substitutes for it.
Quality embedded in operations — not managed in parallel. CAPA, deviation flow, audit readiness, and right-first-time controls integrated into the daily operating rhythm so quality is a property of execution.
Our Differentiator
We run left-to-right: diagnose, design, install. Grounded in leveling, flow, standard work, and visual management — proven lean principles adapted for the complexity of regulated laboratory environments. We begin with disciplined diagnosis to identify the constraint, then design and install the structures that make performance repeatable.
Our ApproachWhere We Work
The Environment
Today's analytical environments combine automated instrumentation, digital data systems, and complex regulatory requirements. Where failure carries operational, regulatory, financial, and reputational cost—the differentiator is operating structure, not more analysis.
Where We WorkThe Team
Every Meridian House engagement is led by a senior operator who has run the environments we advise on. Our team is small by design — because the quality of who shows up matters more than the size of the firm.
Discuss a ConstraintTechnology Enablement
We are not an AI firm. AI increases the speed of visibility—constraints, inefficiencies, and risks become apparent faster. The requirement is the same: convert signal into controlled action. Our differentiation is installing the operating system that can absorb accelerated insight without destabilising execution.
